Traveling Dates: Lima/Cusco/ Amazon Manu Lodge /Puerto Maldonado/Tarapoto/Moyobamba/Abra patricia/Pomacocha.

Day 0:Arrive in Lima, transfer to hotel, Overnight at Hacienda Hotel**** in Miraflores or similar

Day 1: Lomas de Lachay - Pantanos de Villa

Early in the morning we take our private bus to Lomas de Lachay with a nice vegetation which concentrate a good numbers of birds species, at 105 Km. from Lima City. Where we are be able to observe a Coastal Miner (endemic), Mountain Parakeet, Andean Swift, Purple-collared Woodstar, Thick-billed Miner, Least Seedsnipe, Oasis Hummingbird, Grayish Miner, Grassland Yellow Finch, Raimondi`s Yellow-Finch. Black-chested Buzzard Eagle, Collared Warbling-Finch, Cactus Canastero, Tawny-throated Dotterel, Dark-faced Ground-Tyrant, Masked Yellow-throated, Dull-colored Grassquit, and Peruvian Sheartail and more. Afternoon after lunch we will visit Pantanos de Villa nice birding place close to Lima with sandy beach and freshwater marshes, in this place we are going to observe Plumbeous Rail, Black-necked Stilt (September-March), Great Grebe, Pied-billed Grebe, Little Blue Heron, White-cheeked Pintail, Wren-like Rush Bird, multi-colored Rush-Tyrant, Peruvian Meadowlark, Yellow-hooded Blackbird, Yellowish Pipit, Inca Tern, Harris Hawk, Peruvian Thick-knee, Snowy Plover, Western Sandpiper (October-March), Pectoral Sandpiper (October-March), Burrowing Owl, Sooty Shearwater (May-July), Yellow-hooded Blackbird, Least Bittern, Andean Duck, Dark-faced Ground-Tyrant, Grassland Yellow-Finch and more. Day 2: Pelagic

The pelagic tour permit as to be 5 to 7 hours approximately on the sea, 20 to 25 nautical miles deep from the Coast area, where we will have the opportunity to see birds species from the North Pacific and the Antarctic, depending on the season. Today we will board at the Callao port, where the Peruvian, Blue-footed Booby, Peruvian Pelican, Red-legged, Guanay and Neotropical Cormorant is possible to see near the Coast, the Humbolt Penguin, Inca and South American Tern we are be able to observe along the island. Deep on the see we have a chance to see this birds like Gray-headed Albatross, Band-rumped Storm-Petrel, Ringed Storm-Petrel, Waved Albatross,Pink-footed Shearwater,Salvin’s Albatross, Southern Giant-Petrel, Buller’s Albatross, Cape Petrel, Swallow-tailed Gull, Peruvian Diving-Petrel, Black-browed Albatross and more, whales and Dolphin is possible to see it. Day 3: Lima - Cusco - Ollantaytambo

Fly to Cuzco first thing in the morning and transfer by bus to the hotel in the town of Ollantaytambo. At a lower elevation than Cuzco, we will barely feel the elevation and will begin to acclimatize while doing some easy birding in the Valley. Good birds to find are Giant Hummingbird, Green-tailed Hummingbird, Green-tailed Trainbearer, etc. Overnight at Pakaritampu Hotel ***or similar

Day 4: Ollantaytambo - Abra Malaga - Machupicchu

Bus trip to Abra Málaga, 45 Km from the Village of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley, dry forest, mountain scrub forest, we can fine birds like White Tufted Sunbeam, Creamy-crested Spinetail, Chesnut – Breasted Mountain finch, Royal Cinclodes, Tit like Dacnis, White-tufted Sunbeam, Great Sapphirewing, Giant Hummingbird, and White-bellied Hummingbird.etc. Coming back to Ollantaytambo to catch our late Train to Aguas Calientes, transfer to hotel. Overnight at Hanaqpacha INN *** or similar hotel.

Day 5: Machupicchu - Ollantaytambo - Cusco

Visit the famous Machu Picchu archeological side Here we will try to get the endemic Cuzco Brush-Finch and Inca Wren, and other specialties like the Tricolored Brush-Finch and Masket Fruiteater. Birding along the trail tracks. The Sclater’s Flycatcher and the Inca Wren are probably our target birds, but we will have plenty of activity with Tanager flocks. In the afternoon, we will return to Cuzco by train. Overnight at Andes de America hotel ***

Day 6: Cusco - Huacarpay Lake

In the morning we are going to visit Huacarpay Lake for the endemic Bearded Mountaineer, Giant Hummingbird, Black-tailed Trainbearer, and Streak-fronted Thornbird, Rusty-fronted Canastero, White-tufted Grebe, Plumbeous Rail, Wilson´s Phalarope, Eared Dove, Rufous-naped ground-tyrant, Andean Negrito, White-broweb Chat-tyrant, Blue and Yellow Tanager, Yellow billed Pintail, and more. Free afternoon Overnight at Andes de America hotel ***

Day 7: Cusco - Quincemil

Leave early for the paved trans-oceanic Road. ascending to the highest mountain of the 4950m. Hualla Hualla pass. where we stop to appreciate the spectacular view of the Mountains of Ausangate (6340m), with highland birds like White-winged Diuca-Finch, Giant Coot, Plumbeous Sierra-Finch, Ash-Breasted Sierra-Finch, Peruvian Sierra-Finch, Black-Billed Shrike-Tyrant, Spot-Billed Ground-Tyrant, Scribble-tailed Canastero. Llamas and alpacas next to the rout, Once we pass the eastern side of the Andes hills the view of the deep glacial valleys we are going to descend to the cloud forest of mysterious town of Marcapata valley at (2900m), with nice birds and hummingbirds like Shining Sunbeam, Marcapata Spinetail and more. Descending to high jungle through the cloud forest with waterfalls, and nice birds like Cock-of-the Rock, Torrent Duck, White-eared Solitaire and more, along the rout we will arrive to Quincemil (755m), small gold mining community. accommodation on the Basic hotel with shower and bath available.

Day 8: Quincemil - Santa Rosa

We will start descending through high jungle forest, birding on the way arriving to Santa Rosa (200m), small village surrounded by amazon forest with a lot of birds like King Vulture, mix flogs birds, Lanceolated Monklet and more.

Day 9: Santa Rosa - Amazon Manu Lodge

Early in the morning we go the port of the Inambary river to cross to Puerto Carlos and Colorado taking as 2 hours car driving, in Colorado gold mining village we are going to take our boat for four hour boat driving to get Amazon Manu Lodge. Birds a long the boat driving Black Skimmer, Roseate Spoon billed, Horned Screamer, Anhinga, Capped Heron, Bat Falcon, Collared Plover, Pied Lapwing, Large and Yellow-billed Tern, Flogs of Macaws, Parrots and Parakeets, Amazon and Ringed Kingfisher, White Throated Toucan, white winged and white banded Swallow and more. Night at Amazon Manu Lodge.

AMAZON MANU LODGE:

Day 10/11/12/13: Amazon Manu Lodge

We will spend 3 full days at the Amazon Manu Lodge with a great trail system that includes both terra firme and palm swamps, Bamboo forest, access to Camungo and Blanco Lakes, Macaw Clay Lick and Mammal clay Licks That visit Tapir, Monkeys and birds like Guans, parakeets, curassow and Chachalacas and the visit two Canopy Towers in Blanquillo close to the Camungo Lake and the Lodge. Canopy Tower 20 minutes walking from the Lodge with the possibility to see Red-billed Tanager, Paradise Jacamar, Pied Pufbird, White-fronted Numbird, King vulture, Ornate Hawk Eagle, White Throated Toucan, Curl-crested Aracari,Golden-collared Toucanet, Long billed Woodcreaper, Chesnut-winged Hookbill, White-browed Purpletuft, Black-tailed and Masked Tityra, Spangled Cotinga, Plum-throated Cotinga, Bar-necked fruit crow, colorful mix flogs and more. The trails will give us access to several known territories of hard to get birds, mixed species flocks and spend time in flooded forest. We will also visit the bamboo in terra firme where we can observe almost all of the specialists of this unique habitat, Crested Pygmy Tyrant, Peruvian Recurvebill, Flammulated Bamboo Tyrant, Rufus Headed Woodpecker, look for the Rufous-fronted Antthrush in the Heliconia thickets, walk in the Tapir lake trail in the primary forest looking for Black Tinamou, Semicollared Puffbird, Pavonine Quetzal and visit a typical large oxbow lakes Cocha Blanco (Agami Heron), Cocha Piraña (Pale-eyed Blackbird) and Camungo (Purus Jacamar). Since we will be based at the comfortable lodge will cover all the birds different habitats. Overnights at Amazon Manu Lodge.

Day 14: Amazon Manu Lodge - Puerto Maldonado

Afternoon 3 hours boat trip with some birding on the river will take us to the Colorado village and continue our trip to Puerto Maldonado by 5 hours bus trip, arriving at late afternoon, sleeping at Anaconda Lodge Hotel.

Day 15: Puerto Maldonado - Lima - Tarapoto

After breakfast we go for birding in the secondary forest, going to the airport where we will take a flight to Lima and Tarapoto. arriving we are going to meet our bus and crew, driving to Pumarinri Amazon Lodge located in the most bio diverse wildlife. In just a 60 mile range, going from tropical dry forest to mountain rainforest, to end up in low Amazonian rainforest. Night at Pumarinri Amazon Lodge.

Day 16: Pumarinri Amazon Lodge - Moyobamba

In the morning we are do birding around the Lodge Trails, Birds to see at the lodge and so rounded are little Tinamou, Broad-winged Hawk, Blue-winged Parrotlet, Dark-billed Cuckoo, Hoatzin, Crested Owl, Band-bellied Owl, Andean Emerald, Blue-fronted Lancebill, White-tailed Trogon, Striolated Puffbird, Channel-billed Toucan, Elegant Woodcreeper, Zimmer´s Antbird, White-plumed Antbird, White-bellied Pygmy-Tyrant, Carmiol´s Tanager, Moriche Oriole and more. After lunch we´ll head northwest to the town of Moyobamba and we are going to make severals stops on the way. Night at Moyobamba Hotel.

Day 17/18/19: Moyobamba - Abra Patricia

Early in the morning we are going to visit Morro de Calzada, where our targets bird will be the endemic Mishana Tyrannulet, Lafresnaye´s Piculet, Rufous fronted Thornbird, Yellow Breasted Flycatcher, White-browed Purpletuft continuing our trip to Abra Patricia area, in the way we are going to have a chance to see the endemic Black-bellied Tanager, Johannis´ Tody-Tyrant, Point-tailed Palmcreeper, next to the stream is possible to observe Torren Duck and White-capped Dippers, as far we go up hill we will see along the rout Cock-of-the Rock, Red-ruffed Fruitcrow, Golden-faced Tyrannulet, colorful mix flogs and Hummingbirds and more. Birding around the Lodge up and down Abra Patricia area and Garcia, we are going to see for the Long- whiskered Owlet, Ash-throated antwrens, Gray-mantled Wren, Ecuadorian Piedtail, Rufous-rumped, Scaled Fruiteater, White-capped tanagers, Golden-collared Honeycreeper, Orange-eared tanagers, Versicolored Barbet, White-throated Screech-Owl, Swallow-tailed Nightjar, Rufous-banded Owl, Black-billed Treehunter, Speckle-breasted Piculet, Bar-winged Wood-Wren, Spotted Barbtail, Andean Potoo, Royal Sunangel, Violet-throated Starfrontled and More. At the lodge hummingbird feeders visit Booted racket-tail, Collared Inka, Nights at Owlet Lodge.

Day 20: Abra Patricia - Pomacocha

After breakfast we go to Pomachocha and the afternoon we will visit Vista FLorida, walking up hill to the mountain with nice birding along the trails, this is the place where we are going to see the Endemic Marvelous Spatuletail, Chesnut Crowned Antpitta and More. Night at Pumas Hotel.

Day 21: Pomacocha - Tarapoto

This morning before we travel to tarapoto, we are going to visit the Ecoan research Station where they have hummingbird feeders with Marvelous Spatuletail, Purple-collared Woodstar, Little Woodstar, White-bellied Woodstar, Bronzy Inca, Andean Emerald, Tawny-bellied Hermit,Chesnut Crested Cotinga,coming back to Pomacocha and visit for short time the lake next to the community with Peruvian Meadowlark and more. Night at Patarashca Hotel

Day 22: Tarapoto - Lima

Birding in the morning before we take our flight back to Lima.
